Group invocation:
7am Group rest: 9:50am Group closing: 10 am If you finish practice before 9:50am, please leave the Shala before group rest begins at 9:50am. Seasoned practitioners, feel free to start as early as 6:30am.

If new to Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, new to the yoga, please come and observe class and see if this style of learning the Yoga is right for you. If you are feeling attracted to this practice and learning one-on-one within a group setting, then please come to class. You can register on-line or in person for Ashtanga Yoga: Mysore Morning Program and purchase the corresponding plan or pass. You can then commit yourself to 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 practices a week and begin anytime.

Drop-ins are best suited for those with an established Ashtanga Yoga practice or for visiting practitioners.

Take Note: Full Moon and New Moon are rest days, there will not be Mysore on moon days. When the Full Moon lands on a practice day, a restorative yoga class and chanting session will be offered from 8:30am - 10am. There will be no morning class on the New Moon. All afternoon classes are as scheduled.

Please arrive at 7:45am prepared for group sit and chant at 7:50am. If you arrive after 7:45am please enter, sign-in, and take your seat quietly.

This class is best suited for those who have experience with vinyasa based classes or who have an established Ashtanga Vinyasa practice. This led Ashtanga Vinyasa class aims to deepen our understanding of Vinyasa, Tristhana, and rhythm. It infuses practitioners with insight, energy, and inspiration.

If new to practice, new to the yoga, please register for the Ashtanga Yoga: Mysore Morning Program and purchase the corresponding pass or plan. You can then commit yourself to 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 practices a week and begin anytime.

Vinyasa Yoga at Hilo Shala

Vinyasa translates as: "To place in a special way.” It is the practice of connecting breath with movement. This class is designed to gradually awaken the body’s flexibility, strength, and natural intelligence through alignment based, flow sequencing that builds towards one or more peak poses. A full spectrum of postures and breathing exercises are explored. Variations, modifications, and props used to accommodate multiple levels. Open levels practice, some yoga experience recommended.

The focus of this Yoga Fundamentals Class is on exploring the body's range of motion, developing breath capacity, and unraveling from the external body to
the self within. This is an all levels yoga class with no prior experience necessary to participate.

Full Moon Restorative 8-9:30am
The Shala honors Full & New Moon as rest days from the Ashtanga Yoga Asana series.
On the Full Moon of each month we offer a restorative class in the morning in lieu of Mysore Class. Meditation, asana, chanting, and deep relaxation are core subject matter for this class.
All are welcome.
When the Full Moon lands on Sunday or Monday there will not be a class held.
